A bit of tidying up

For us  at this time of year the olives are all picked and the pruning has begun.  Simon trims a third of the 300 trees every year.  That’s a lot of sticks.  These can be trimmed for the fires, turned into fences, mulched or burnt in big bonfires.

The last dumpy bag, there were three.

The last dumpy bag, there were three. This is the fresh stuff.

Last year the burning got held up because of the weather and other jobs getting in the way.  So we had a BIG pile to get rid of.  As well as this years of course.

A small pile to dispose of.

Where the ground is brown it was as tall as me with almond and olive sticks to burn.

Nearly finished.

We are completely up to date now with this years burning and have nearly finished last years.  There is a huge pile of rotting down leaves for us to use on the gardens.

Excellent.

Thank you trees.
