We have just bottled the Apricot wine and some of the black grape wine 18 bottles in all. Yes, we drank some and yes, it is delicious!
Oh and Step one is sterilise the bottles. We did ours in the oven but Milton or camden tablets work too. I suppose there are other steps before that too…. Grow or buy fruit, pick fruit… add sugar, yeast, water……………………. etc.etc.
- Step two…. siphon wine into sterilised, cooled bottles
- Step three … squeeze the tube to stop the flow between bottles
- Keeping the end in the wine but above any sediment all the time
- Step 4…You do not have to fill them up to the top, you can do this with a jug at the end
- The bottles building up.
- Step 5…. corks have to be soaked first in hot water to soften them up a bit Then bashed in Simon has a device . You put the cork in and press it down.
- Onto the red wine now. Hic….
- Finished and standing to attention in the spare room
- Labelled and ready
- Arty shot!
