Little owls

When I let the chickens out this morning I noticed an owl pellet on the ground under the vine framework outside the casita. We have heard owls at night around the finca but the thought that they might just be hanging around the place is a great feeling.  On close inspection of the pellet in question the remains were mostly insects.  Black beetles and ladybirds most visible.  Pellets I have come across in Devon had mouse fur and bits of bone in so I am assuming this is a smaller bird than the ones depositing their leftovers as it were in UK.   I know there are Little Owls around as I have had to do an emergency stop in the twilight to avoid hitting them. Little owls staying at Manna House.  I won’t be charging them!
